Cabling Health Checks / Testing

Copper Cable (Structured Cat5E or Cat6).

Cable Testing is standard with all new installations, yet your existing network may experience a drop in performance overtime. Whether you’re experiencing networking errors or simply want peace of mind – West Comms can put your mind at rest.
Network structures can be tested e.g. to prove a fault, establish cable lengths, network traffic speeds and to establish the exact location of possible damage to cable(s) or as a specified requirement by a third party (new business owner or head office).
Our Specialist Engineers are fully trained to give your installed cabling a thorough health check. We can test, inspect and certify your cabling infrastructure.
West Comms test, inspect and certify health check service provides you with the re-assurance that you need, along with tests including:-
  • A full visual Inspection of the installed cabling infrastructure and terminations. Our experienced engineers complete a full inspection of your patch panels and user outlet terminations, checking for correct termination techniques that meet the manufacturers and international standards. With tolerances being particularly tight, and numerous failures occurring due to incorrect/poor termination practices, this is an essential inspection process.
  • Full testing – West Comms tests with Lantek & Wavetech Industry Compliant Testers which confirm network protocol compliance, speed and reliability. Tests are carried out against the standards laid down by national and international standards bodies, performing up to 15 different tests per cable.
  • Instant test results.
  • Follow-up analysis – a detailed analysis of the site inspection, findings and test results, with a report outlining our observations and any recommendations.
  • West Comm’s test, inspect and certify cabling health check costs just £350.00 for our half-day on-site engineering assessment, and we will be happy to refund half of this charge (£175.00*) should you require any subsequent remedial work.
